Alexander Ivanovich Sigov was born in Leningrad, in 1955. Graduated from the V. A. Serov Leningrad Art Higher School in 1975. The member of the Art Union of Russia since 1994.
Alexander has participated in more than 150 exhibitions in Russia and abroad.
On the decline of the art of the twentieth century, no less than reality itself, is a source of motivation and inspiration for the painter.
Bringing the aesthetics and symbolism of the past images into his works, Alexander Sigov is creating his own integral world in which the finest pictorial interrelations are reproduced with definite accuracy. No matter to what cultural traditions the author has appealed, he is always attended by fine style, in either the portrait reminding the Renaissance images or the monumental and severe forms of Egypt. The richness of the colorful timbre, variety of pictorial textures in conjunction with compositional completeness allows the artist to express the combination of styles and images as a harmonious work of art.
